The Obvious

Maybe the hardest questions to answer are the ones that seem the easiest.

You will probably open OneTopic one day, read the question, and immediately think, "Well... that's a dumb question."

If that happens, don't worry. That's exactly how your brain was trained to react.

For years, social media has rewarded us for making decisions in a fraction of a second. We scroll, judge, like, skip, and move on before we even have time to think. The faster we react, the longer we stay.

I wanted to build the opposite.

What if you stopped for a minute? What if you actually asked yourself why someone pours milk before cereal?

At first, the answer feels obvious. Then you start wondering if maybe it isn't.

Maybe there's a reason you've never considered. Maybe thousands of people see it differently. Maybe the point was never cereal.

OneTopic isn't a place for the world's biggest questions. It's a place where every question gets the chance to be thought about.

Some days the answer will feel impossible. Other days it will feel obvious. Both are equally important.

Because this isn't about finding controversial topics. It's about giving ourselves permission to think about things we stopped thinking about a long time ago.

Maybe you'll change your mind. Maybe you won't.

But if OneTopic can make you pause for just a little longer than every other app... then it has already done what I hoped it would do.

Maybe the obvious wasn't so obvious after all.
